Throughout her career, Shannon has successfully completed over 20,000 units of mixed-income housing, with a focus on affordability, sustainability, and urban revitalization. Her approach prioritizes creating a sense of place, ensuring that her developments contribute positively to the surrounding community. In 2019, she co-founded Renovare Development with her partner, Jill Ferrari, establishing it as a woman-owned, social impact real estate development company. Renovare focuses on transformational projects in Michigan, offering inclusive and comprehensive solutions for housing and economic development, particularly in underserved areas.

Shannon’s commitment to housing extends beyond individual projects. Her dedication to the housing sector has been recognized through numerous awards. She was inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame in 2023. Shannon also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Redevelopment in Brownfield by the Center for Creative Land Recycling in 2019. In 2018, she was named the National Affordable Housing Developer of the Year by LOCUS/ Smart Growth America, further highlighting her lasting contributions to housing development.
