Maria Ward

Maria Ward, CGCIO, serves as the Assistant Director for Information Technology for Roanoke County, Virginia, leading Data and AI Governance, Infrastructure and Contracts.  Roanoke County’s IT department is a centralized department serving 26 departments and external regional partners. Maria has served on panels to discuss data governance and AI adoption for local governments. She serves on the legislative subcommittee for VaLGITE, the Virginia local government IT executive group. Roanoke County is a medium-size county, with a population close to 100,000,  in southwestern Virginia, known for outdoor activities, scenic views and technology innovation.
