Christopher Blanchette

Christopher serves as the National Program Director for Public Promise Insurance with NACo EDGE. Born and raised in Waterbury, Conn., Chris is a 2010 graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned his Bachelor's of Science in Economics. Chris has enjoyed a variety of different roles in the employee benefits space over the past 15 years – he began in the industry as a new business underwriter with Aetna in Hartford, Conn. (2011-2013) and moved down to Houston, Texas to serve as an account coordinator with Gallagher Benefit Services from 2013-2014. Chris' first role in new business sales was with Ameritas (2014-2015) where he stood up their small group ancillary market and then went on to return to Aetna, this time in Austin, Texas. Chris' second stint at Aetna included new business medical sales for Central Texas (2015-2020) and sales management for the State of Texas in the commercial medical market (2019-2023). Before joining NACo, Chris most recently served as an Employee Benefits Advisor with Marsh in Houston, Texas (2024-2025).

Chris currently resides in Tomball, Texas with his wife Heather, three children – twins William & Lelia (8) and Grant (4) – plus their two dogs, Nahla & Jade.
