About Aliyah
Aliyah is the Research Fellow for the Rural Energy Academy program at NACo. She brings five years of experience spanning federal government, climate-focused nonprofits, local government, and trade associations. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) at The George Washington University, concentrating in Climate and Health, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College.
Prior to joining NACo, Aliyah served as a Policy Fellow at a trade association focused on electric vehicle transportation policy and clean energy tax credits, and as a Program Analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she led geospatial data analysis and tracked federal rulemaking related to environmental justice and renewable energy. She is passionate about advancing equitable energy and economic outcomes in rural counties through research, policy analysis, and data visualization.
