Abby Davidson

Abby serves as NACo’s Chief Research Officer, leading the Research, Policy and Governance Studies department. She oversees original research across a broad range of policy areas, including the roles and responsibilities of county governments within the intergovernmental system, the impacts of federal policy on local governments, and the economic trends and fiscal conditions affecting counties nationwide.

Abby holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Economics and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Arkansas. Prior to joining NACo, Abby led research at the Aspen Institute focused on the role of entrepreneurship in driving economic development in emerging economies.
