    When you were growing up, well when I was growing up and kids had some leeway for exploration, mom would always make me wash my hands before coming to the dinner table. At some point after the meal it would be time to take a bath, brush my teeth and go to bed.  In addition, I was always instructed to wash my hands before leaving the restroom.
