Professional Staff Member, U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs
Shauna Rust is a professional staff member with the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, under Chairman Jon Tester (D-Mont.). She covers a variety of veteran health care issues including mental health and suicide prevention, women veterans, COVID-19 response, long-term care, and EHR modernization. Prior to joining Senator Tester’s team, Shauna worked with the Irish Parliament’s Health Committee to study international health system models, including the VA, for health reform in Ireland. She has also served as a public health analyst at the Health Resources & Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
Shauna earned an MPP in Health Policy from University College Dublin as a Mitchell Scholar, and holds a BSPH in Health Policy & Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
