Robert McGinnis

Robert McGinnis is principal analyst and manager at Thomson Reuters Special Services LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of Thomson Reuters. TRSS provides customized solutions to select government, law enforcement, and corporate customers utilizing proprietary and integrated services powered by Thomson Reuters financial and risk, legal, tax and accounting, intellectual property, and science and media solutions. TRSS creates custom offerings and leverages content and capabilities across Thomson Reuters into the specific federal government customer base. Mr. McGinnis is a recognized leader in the intelligence community with over 18 years of public and private sector experience and an in-depth understanding of intelligence collection, counter-terrorism operations, social media, dark web, identity and emerging technologies. He has extensive work experience with law enforcement, U.S. intelligence agencies and the Department of Defense.  An Illinois native, Mr. McGinnis is a decorated former United States Marine and deployed numerous times to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and the War on Terror as an intelligence analyst. He speaks regularly on emerging technologies and the impact on intelligence collection for the intelligence community, open source intelligence collection and its impact on law enforcement and intelligence community.
