About Molly Mowery

Molly Mowery serves as Executive Director of the Community Wildfire Planning Center (CWPC), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping communities prepare for, adapt to, and recover from wildfire events. Throughout her career, Molly has collaborated with partners across North America to bring her expertise in land use planning and wildfire mitigation to address risk at the local, community and national scales. Most recently, her work has focused on educating realtors, developers, emergency responders, planners, elected officials, and other industry professionals to understand their role in the wildfire decision making process. Molly is a member of the Sustainable Development Code Advisory Council and the American Institute of Certified Planners. She presents internationally and was the lead author of the American Planning Association’s PAS Report 594: Planning the Wildland-Urban Interface. Molly holds a bachelor’s degree from Naropa University and a master’s degree in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
