Matthew Rowland

Matthew is the Policy Director at the American Flood Coalition. He draws on his extensive Capitol Hill experience to develop the AFC’s policy strategy and lead the Policy team.

Prior to joining AFC, Matthew served as Legislative Director to Congressman Al Green, overseeing the Congressman’s work on the House Financial Services and Homeland Security Committees. During his time with the Congressman, he was Chief Policy Advisor on an array of issues, including disaster response and recovery. Matthew also served as a Legislative Staffer for Congresswoman Nita Lowey, where he supported the Congresswoman in her role as then-Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee.

Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Cornell University.
