About Larry B. Jackson II
Larry leads programs that help create greater economic opportunity and mobility for frontline retail workers. Overseeing the Walmart.org opportunity portfolio, he is responsible for managing Walmart and the Walmart Foundation’s philanthropic investments that aim to make significant and lasting improvements in workforce systems.
Larry’s focus areas include strengthening learning paths and career navigation, improving employer hiring practices and advancing learning records technology. He and his team work closely with the Walmart U.S. people team in strategy development and program implementation.
Prior to coming to Walmart, Larry was the vice president of programs for the southern region at LISC, a national nonprofit financial institution, and he served as the deputy assistant secretary for economic development within the Office of Community Planning and Development, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
A decorated military veteran, Larry served in the United States Air Force as an intelligence analyst and was awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal. He holds a bachelor of science in marketing, a master of science in supply chain management and a master of business administration from the University of Maryland University College. Larry is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and an alum of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania having completed executive studies in advanced finance.
Larry and his wife, Sheba, their daughter, Blair, and dog Denim currently reside in Bentonville, Arkansas.
