About Katrina Gier Lewison

Katrina grew up in Kansas and went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point. She served in the 101st Airborne Division as a Blackhawk helicopter platoon leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom and commanded an aviation company of U.S. and Korean soldiers in the 2d Infantry Division in Seoul, Republic of Korea.  Katrina returned to West Point to teach cadets leadership development at West Point as part of the Eisenhower Leader Development Program, in conjunction with Columbia University in New York City.

After 15 years in the Army, Katrina moved back to her home state to work in growing Kansas businesses. Most notably, she led various product and services teams with GovTech company CivicPlus, which, for over a decade, has continued to be recognized as one of the fastest-growing  companies in America.  Since 2022, Katrina has had the opportunity to work with U.S. state, county and municipal governments, and public universities as part of the World Wide Public Sector Professional Services organization at Amazon Web Services.

Service has been an important aspect to Katrina throughout her life. She was elected in 2017 to serve on the USD 383 Board of Education.  In 2018, she ran for Lieutenant Governor of Kansas, to highlight the need for education funding in the state and to set an example for other women to have the courage to step up to run for elected office.

She holds graduate degrees in both Public Policy and Organizational Psychology & Leadership. She is married to her West Point classmate, Tyler. They are avid travelers, having been to over 50 countries. They have three daughters who keep them very busy!
