About Janae Ladet

Janae Ladet is a Lead Policy Advisor for Harris County Precinct 1, and works on affordable housing and community and economic development. Previously, she served as Professional Staff on the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services chaired by Representative Maxine Water in which her portfolio focused on federal community development programs and homelessness policy. Before joining the Committee, she was a Policy Analyst at the Urban Institute’s Policy Advisory Group. In this role, she conducted research on various projects related to affordable housing and community development. Prior to joining the Urban Institute, Janae worked as Policy Fellow for the City of Philadelphia where she organized the Creative Finance and Affordable Housing Workgroup. She has also worked at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Houston office on their Building Sustainable Communities program. Janae also has experience in campaigns and fundraising. Janae earned her Bachelors in Political Science from the University of Houston, and her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Janae enjoys gardening, fine arts, and spending time with her family and dog.
