Hon. George Murdock

Commissioner George Murdock was elected to the Umatilla County Board of Commissioners in 2013 and is the board chair. He is the former editor and publisher of the East Oregonian and served as superindentent of what is the now the Intermountain Education Service District, superintendent of schools in Pasco, Washington, and deputy superintendent of the Walla Walla School District. Prior to that, he was a teacher, vice-principal and principal in Chehalis, Washington. Commissioner Murdock is a distinguished graduate of Washington State University and was inducted into the College of Agriculture, Home Economics and Natural Resources Hall of Fame and is a member of the WSU Foundation board of trustees. He is a member of the Oregon Cattlemen's Association and former president of the Montadale Sheet Breeders Association,
