Hon. Bill Ferguson

Bill Ferguson is the Program Director for State Recovery Now, overseeing its work helping state and local leaders maximize their ARP investments. As an elected leader in Maryland, Bill has first-hand experience with the challenges state and local leaders face in driving positive outcomes for residents and is guiding State Recovery Now to support leaders to deliver impact. Bill is a lifelong Maryland resident and began a public service career as a high school teacher in Baltimore City Schools with Teach For America. A desire to address the educational inequities he encountered as a teacher led him to run for Maryland Senate in 2010. He is now serving his third term as senator for Maryland's 46th district, and in January 2020, was unanimously elected to serve as Senate President. Bill has successfully led passage of legislation that supports educational equity, thriving neighborhoods, working families, and economic success for all Marylanders.
