Erik Avakian

Erik Avakian was named Chief Information Security Officer for the Commonwealth of Pennnsylvania in 2010. He has over 17 years experience in securing enterprise-level environments and holds numerous industry certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) and ITIL v3. He is an active member of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers, the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center and the Pennsylvania Criminal Intelligence Center.
