Dr. Patrick Woods

Dr. Patrick J. Woods is a Security Assurance Lead for U.S. Public Sector compliance with Amazon Web Services with over 20 years of public service in a variety of public safety and technology roles prior to joining AWS. Most recently, Dr. Woods served as the Assistant Director of Cybersecurity and Technology and Chief Information Security Officer for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He has served on the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Servcies Advisory Policy Board. During his tenure at the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dr. Woods built a comprehensive cybersecurity program that was directly tested by one of the largest hacktivist attacks against law enforcement in U.S. history, which later served as the foundation of his academic research and dissertation. Dr. Woods holds a master of science in cybersecurity and a Doctor of Information Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity.
