Ann Rooney

Ann serves as Deputy County Executive for Human Services for Onondaga County.  In this role since 2008, she is responsible for directing, advising, and coordinating policy for managers and employees in the following departments: Adult and Long Term Care Services, Children and Family Services, Emergency Communications (911), Emergency Management, Health, Probation, Social Services: Economic Security and Veterans Services.

Prior to joining Onondaga County, she was the Chief Financial Officer for the Syracuse Salvation Army, Budget Director and Program Analyst for the City of Syracuse, and worked in various roles for the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Ann was a franchisee of Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzels for 25 years, owning and operating 10 locations.

A graduate of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University with a master’s degree in Public Administration, she serves as an adjunct professor at the school.

Ann resides in Syracuse with her husband and is the proud mother of three grown children and grandmother of four.
