About Amanda Harris

Amanda currently serves as the Chief of Services to End and Prevent Homelessness for the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to joining Montgomery County, she was the Chief Operating Officer for Pathways to Housing DC and helped to advance Housing First principles throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan. Her experience ranges from direct services, program management, public administration, and advocacy. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Master of Public Policy and Philosophy from George Washington. Under her leadership, Montgomery County has reduced overall homelessness by 35%, chronic homelessness by more than 90%, and family homelessness by 65%.
