Washington, D.C. -- The National Association of Counties (NACo) is deeply saddened by the terrible events in San Bernardino County.  NACo President Sallie Clark, who serves as a commissioner in El Paso County, Colo., the site of last week’s tragic events in Colorado Springs, issued the following statement.

“We extend our prayers to the victims of yesterday’s horrific shooting, including San Bernardino County employees and their families.  The nation’s counties offer our support and stand ready to help our colleagues in any way we can during this difficult time.  Let our communities be defined by heroism in the face of violence rather than violence itself.”
