Welcome to Your County is a monthly television program that is produced by the N.C. Association of County Commissioners and distributed to the PEG Media channels across the state. The program helps enhance the level of citizen participation and is part of the NCACC’s emphasis to educate citizens about the role of county government. Each monthly edition includes reports from various counties that highlight special programs or services offered by county governments, such as 911 communications centers, restaurant inspections, elections, emergency services and transportation services for special needs citizens. The show also features a County Creativity segment that profiles county programs that win an NCACC Outstanding County Program Award or receive national recognition from groups like NACo. These segments highlight how counties are being creative and innovative in the delivery of services and programs. Segments also cover county historical events. The program is produced completely in-house. NCACC staff serve as hosts and reporters, and the Public Relations Specialist edits the program. The program is being shown on more than 30 PEG channels across the state, and the network is growing each year.
