Category: Information Technology (Best in Category)

Year: 2011

In an environment where cost savings and reduced operational overheads are key concerns, Miami-Dade County has embarked on a Virtual Desktop Deployment initiative to realize greater efficiencies from its information technology infrastructure. Improvement in the method by which personal computer (PC) systems are deployed and managed significantly reduces costs. This is measured by the reduction in human workload, electricity consumption, support calls and elimination of security risk exposure which adversely affect productivity. With the implementation of Virtual Desktop, Miami-Dade County employees have been able to access their virtual desktops from anywhere, anytime, and from virtually any internet-enabled device.
