Year: 2016

The Veteran, Senior and Homeowner Exemption Outreach Program was created to increase the public’s awareness of available services and programs provided by our department. Through the utilization of different mediums and methods of communication, the program enables the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk (ARC) to educate the public on available exemptions that provide tax relief for veterans, seniors, and homeowners. With this core objective in mind, we identified effective forms of communication such as brochures, special mailings, and personal interactions at community events and resource fairs. Since implementing the Veteran, Senior, and Homeowner Exemption Outreach Program, we have seen significant increases in the number of applications received. This increased response is a direct correlation to the Veteran, Senior, and Homeowner Exemption Outreach Program and demonstrates the success of ARC’s proactive efforts to better educate and inform the public, specifically veterans, seniors, and homeowners, about the tax relief programs and services available.
