Year: 2018

Alameda County Social Services Agency (SSA) assists over 11.3 percent of the County’s residents through various programs and initiatives. This translates into 144,955 people who need the County’s assistance for various safety net support services to meet basic life needs. Alameda County Information Technology Department (ITD) supports over 2,600 SSA staff. Social Workers need desktops, laptops and technology that is dependable and functional. ITD replaced over 2,600 workstations that were old and in many cases nonfunctional and upgrade to Windows 10 using automation and modern business processes that allowed a project that would normally take four years and compress it into 10 months. Leveraging this program allowed SSA to experience little to no down time in order to perform their essential job functions while also getting new hardware and software that allowed them to work more efficiently.
