The San Diego Department of Child Support Servicesâ Super Saturday Program offers services on Saturdays where all members of the community, not only individuals with a child support case, can visit the Child Support offices to apply for services, as well as meet with various community partners. Launched in late January 2019, the events are set up as resource fairs where attendees can interact with a variety of other social service providers, potential employers and child support staff to address their needs. Attendees can meet with the Family Law Facilitatorâs office, Public Defender, and the YMCA as well as employers such as Starbucks, Census2020, Goodwill and Workforce Partnership. Child Support staff also rallied together and donated backpacks with school supplies for children and bags of Thanksgiving food which were distributed at the August and November events.Child Support has hosted a total of four events across its regional offices throughout the county. Over the course of these events, the department has seen over 400 attendees, collected over $8,000 in child support payments and opened multiple new cases. Furthermore, the department also saw increased enrollment in its other programs and initiatives.
