The Sherriff's Office Smartphone Mobile APP has been designed as an informative resource for the citizens of Douglas County. We expect the app to have a huge impact in the school system as it will put the students & parents (anonymously if they choose) in direct contact with their school resource officer and should open up lines of communication that didn’t exist before. It will also impact the general community giving us the ability to send out notifications to our users of Amber alerts, Mattie’s call’s etc…or any other important information that may need to be distributed to the Public quickly. This feature will also have the same benefit in the schools for parents and students by being able to receive updates from their specific schools about important events or emergency’s taking place. We believe this Smartphone APP Is an excellent tool to keep our citizens more informed and will provide them with information that will help keep our community safer.
