Sharing Resources to Better Economic Development is a proactive effort of the County of Summit Executive Office for Community and Economic Development to identify the needs of Summit County community and business leaders and then match them up with local, state and federal programs and resources to achieve common economic development goals. Community and business leaders are invited to participate in a forum discussion with a panel of local, state and federal officials. The panel summarizes programs and funding resources that are available for local development. The program provides participants with a chance to talk directly with the people who have the latest information on development trends and resources. Along with the contacts created through the forum, participants also receive an informational packet detailing programs and resources. Along with the contacts created through the forum, participants also receive an informational packet detailing programs and resources. Six forums were conducted throughout the country during the project year and every attendee and featured speaker was invited to an all-day, countywide professional conference: “Summit on Economic Development.” The conference included a panel discussion, break-out education sessions, luncheon and Keynote Speaker.
