The SECURE Multi-County Electronic Recording Delivery System (ERDS) is software jointly owned by Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego Counties and in partnership with Santa Barbara, Sacramento, San Mateo, Ventura, Marin and Tulare Counties. In 2012, the SECURE owner Counties contracted with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk to write a new version of the SECURE system with the goal of substantially enhancing the capabilities of the system to better serve document submitters (banks, title companies, service providers, government agencies) as well as participating County Recorders. Launched in 2014, SECURE v3 is an innovative, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution designed to deliver electronic recordable documents. The first of its kind to be implemented in the United States, the SECURE system provides a convenient, centralized submission point for Business to Government (B2G) and Government to Government (G2G) entities doing business with Los Angeles and nine other California County Recorders. Using cutting-edge web development technologies, the system’s software infrastructure is flexible, scalable, and capable of accommodating the changing ways in which business and government agencies interact with their data
