The Sheriff in any county seeks to increase data sharing between law enforcement Agencies, improve disaster preparedness, and deliver actionable data to assist decision making by officers and first-responders in the field. In San Diego County, SDFusion is a centralized intelligence indexing system to provide fusion of Person, Serialized Property, Address and Case information between different application systems for summary and detail searches. It includes pictures, federated search, integrated business logic, and an alerting system that are designed to yield converged data with access to State, Local, and Federal criminal information in a unified fashion from a single portal. SDFusion allows the person, case, address, and Serialized property information to be entered once and searched against one or more selected systems. A Spyder query is available so data returned from one system can be used to help search other systems. Single user sign-on functionality is used to save the user from having to enter and reenter passwords for access to the data from different systems. Data from different systems is displayed in a common format to improve visual comparisons and data matching.
