Nestled on the banks of the san Eligo Lagoon, the new state of the art Nature Center serves to educate the public and encourage thoughtful exploration of the surrounding wetland preserve. The goal for the San Eligo Lagoon Nature Center is to utilize its LEED Platinum certification to demonstrate environmentally-friendly building design and present a “practice what we preach’ public facility; exhibiting conservation of energy and natural resources, use of recycled and environmentally-friendly construction materials, reduced carbon footprint, and low water use.
