The Broward County Purchasing Division has recently implemented a new Request for Letters of Interest (RLI)/Request for Proposals (RFP) internet webpage on the http://www.broward.org/purchasing/pages/rlirfprepository.aspx website to make RLI/RFP electronic documents now available on-line both internally and externally. The Broward County Board of County Commissioners (Board), County personnel and the public have enthusiastically welcomed the ability to search and view these documents online as an innovative way of providing open access to the County’s purchasing process. Although the same data were available in prints before to the Board and the citizenry, the web-based RLI/RFP Supporting Documents Repository system has drastically increased the speed at which information about RLI/RFP solicitation can be obtained. The repository has been implemented on the County’s SharePoint internet server. It provides a centralized location for storage of electronic documents to eliminate the mass production of copies of agenda exhibits for consumption by the various members previously mentioned. Once the Board takes action on an agenda item, the repository becomes an archival record for each individual procurement action.
