The Ride On Realtime initiative provides bus arrival and departure times in real time to consumers via Web, Smartphone app, texts and E-mail. As a result Ride On Customers are able to plan their trips more accurately to cut down on wait time at stops. Currently Ride On Customers are able to get real time information on over 90% of buses, and this information is best available from the Ride On Realtime app provided free of charge by Montgomery County and is also available on all other Transit apps using the Ride on Realtime data feed. This program has resulted in a decrease in customer calls and complaints, and also in shorter wait time for customers. With future improvements to the system we expect to be able to hit 98% reporting of real time information.
