Winnebago County Human Services Child Welfare Division has been on a journey since April 1, 2015 to redefine how we engage with and serve families. We changed our approach in our work with families, along with strengthening our understanding of safety and utilizing different services to manage and/or best control safety. We reduced our out-of-home placements, increased partnering with parents and families, and we offered more services and supports in the home. We used the Organizational Effectiveness process to assess our current state and develop goals and action steps to move to where we wanted to go. Our outcome data demonstrates the positive progress made overtime.
