Rec Room is a web-based virtual recreation hub sponsored by Montgomery County Recreation. It was created to deliver free and affordable recreational resources and opportunities to residents of all ages to enjoy from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.Rec Room provides residents with free resources such as links, pre-recorded videos, and printable content while serving as a hub and springboard for the department’s pivot to live, virtual recreational classes and programs. Rec Room allows residents to connect to recreation and leisure programs to stay “fit”, healthy, and creative” during the COVID-19 emergency response. Activities during this time were limited and having a tool to connect to the virtual hub ensured that residents of all ages, and abilities, had access to programs.These activities range from art to education to virtual field trips. COVID-19 related resources such as mental health, food insecurity, and other County related information and additional information critical during times of isolation and uncertainty are available as well.
