Gwinnett County GA had hundreds of paper real estate files pertaining to County-owned properties. The files took up a lot of storage space and were hard to search. Newer acquisitions have been documented electronically, but County staff didn’t have enough time and resources to bring the old files up to date. Employees tried to work on the monumental task during spare moments, but there weren’t many of those. The solution appeared in early 2013 in the form of a volunteer with enough time, technical skills, and real estate knowledge to get the job done.
