The Alameda County Position Request System (PREQ), provides a vital interface between the County Budget and the Human Resource Management System (HRMS). With approximately 14,000 positions to manage, this system is the County’s position management engine which Departments’ Human Resources (HR) and Finance users access to reclassify, add, transfer, and delete positions, change permanent expensing or position location. The requests created in the PREQ System go through an approval process and are either approved or denied by a HR Analyst, Central HR Approver and County Administrator Office (CAO) Analysts. During the approval process, documents are generated from the system for Civil Service Commission review. On final approval, an automated change is made in the County Budget System and HRMS. This system is one of the most complex systems built by the County of Alameda. The system provides an Intuitive User Interface, Real Time Data from the County Budget System and HRMS, Workflow and Notification, On Demand Parameterized Report, Data Security, Online Training developed using PeopleSoft Enterprise User Productivity Kit, and more.
