Year: 2011

– The Pike County Office of emergency management implemented an application for its mapping software to assess damages from the July 2010 flood. The application was created with software developers specifically for instances of disasters. The software developers are now looking to market the application and the State of Kentucky is considering using it statewide. This software application has already been utilized in three disasters, and it allows Pike County to provide reports to organizations such as FEMA and the American Red Cross in a timely and accurate manner. The Application essentially expedites much of the labor that generally takes the Red Cross and FEMA weeks to complete.
