The Performance Indicators Dashboard Program was developed by the Department of Behavioral Healthâs (DBH) Research and Evaluation unity (R&E) to support ongoing state requirements that demonstrate effective outcomes within the department. It also provides management a very efficient tool to quickly access the overall health of the department and provides insight as to areas that may require further follow-up and review. This project is a collaborative effort between R&E and the Department of Behavioral Health â Information Technology (DBH-IT), who provided the support to place the dashboard on the internal intranet. The information is accessible to all county staff and through the countyâs web portal to contract agencies as well. A website was developed with six areas of performance displayed under various tabs. Each area has a speedometer that shows how well the department is performing relative to an established goal for that given area. Additionally, there are supporting charts and graphics, showing breakdowns by major clinics, programs, or relevant groupings. Each indicator has a drill-down feature that allows the under to click anywhere on the particular indicator where a new page will pop up and provide the user a detailed breakdown of it. These reports are designed in a printable PDF format that provides the user details down to the reporting unit. Dada is updated on a monthly basis. Historical data is maintained in a separate Archive tab, allowing the user access to prior month data as needed. The responses thus far have been extremely positive, and improvement in many areas has been demonstrated.
