OC Parks manages 60,000 acres of parks, beaches and open space for the County of Orange. The agency’s mission states: We preserve and enhance OC Parks' natural and cultural resources for recreation, education and exploration. Unfortunately, in recent years, an increasing number of severe wildfires have put these valuable resources at risk. Orange and other California counties face multiple, ongoing threats from year-round wildfires. OC Parks’ Wildland Fire Resource Advisor Program helps identify sensitive resources in County parks for fire agencies to reduce damage during and after wildfires to preserve the parklands for generations to come.
