Parks for All is an initiative of Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry which focuses on ensuring that amenities within Erie County Parks are physically accessible to and inclusive of individuals living with mobility challenges. In 2022, Parks for All has prioritized the following amenities: playgrounds, shelters, fishing facilities, and picnic tables. Seemingly simple, these amenities are central to a park patron’s experience and ability to engage with the natural settings stewarded by the Erie County Parks Department. This accessible engagement supports mental, physical and social well-being for individuals of all ages, and is now a lens through which all Parks projects are approached.
