Year: 2015

The Outdoor Family (TOF) was created to introduce individuals and families to basic camping skills. First-time tent-campers are led through an instructional overnight experience packed with activities and learning objectives which can be divided into three separate categories, (1) the basics, setting up a camp-site (2) recreation, activities families can do together, like, fishing, archery, hiking, kayaking, etc. and (3) environmental stewardship, that is based on the leave no trace principals which educates those who enjoy the outdoors about their recreational impacts, and teaches techniques to prevent and minimize such impacts. The overall goal of TOF is to impart confidence and knowledge to a more diverse audience that will one-day lead future outings.
