In preparation for the 2016 Presidential Election year commencing March 1st through November 8th, the Orange County Registrar of Voters embarked on a process with the intention of enhancing and executing several key aspects of public communication. This includes the following: ⢠Attending 20+ Community Outreach events ⢠Partnering with organizations and stakeholders to coordinate voter education and outreach events ⢠Conducting four MyBallot high school student voting education elections ⢠Surf the Vote music event ⢠Capturing a major corporate sponsorship ⢠Expanding social media presence ⢠Producing a PSA (Public Service Announcement) featuring Orange County celebrities The Orange County Registrar of Voters stays committed to taking a proactive approach when complying with the language requirements of the Voting Rights Act for every election held in the County. We pride ourselves in maintaining a comprehensive language assistance program in all covered languages. We believe that a successful community outreach program for the language community requires existence of dedicated full time bilingual community program staff, active and creative community outreach, quality control of translation of election materials and proactive recruitment of bilingual poll workers. At every step of the way, our commitment to engage the public in new and unique ways ensures people of all voting age and demographics are aware of the electoral process and the services we provide. From numerous events such as major concerts, street fairs, college campuses and more, we proactively reach out to thousands of individuals. In turn, these individuals have become newly registered voters, volunteered for an election or in general, have learned about elections as a whole. In addition, our mission includes providing outreach to voters needing bilingual assistance and voters with disabilities, making sure all eligible voters have the opportunity to participate in the process.
