Roof-mount solar, or photovoltaic, systems are increasing exponentially across California. County of San Diego, Planning & Development Services (PDS) is forecasting that roughly 3,200 building permits for roof-mount solar systems will be processed this year. The number of these projects has tripled in the last two years and continues to increase. To reduce the time and cost of processing, as well as to improve customer service, PDS developed an online application process for roof-mount solar that has cut the processing time in half, and eliminated the need for roof-mount solar customers to spend time and money driving to County offices to get their building permits.
