Year: 2017

In August 2016, the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) launched a new website. Goals of the new website were to streamline communications to the public and to help rebrand DPR as a leader in recreation, preservation and sustainability in a colorful, fun and lasting way. The new and improved sdparks.org is now organized by function, with easy-to-use navigation that directs users to the perfect park based on personal preference. Core revenuegenerating opportunities like donations and class registrations are highlighted with custom imagery. A County Parks News Center showcases department updates alongside images, videos and social media feeds. An Alerts bar (activated in emergencies) shares urgent information like park/trail closures and boil water orders on the top of all site pages. These and other fixes have successfully boosted brand awareness and department income, and have dramatically enhanced the customer experience.
