Nevada County’s My Neighborhood GIS web application facilitates citizen access to property and other data with a location component, delivered through a user friendly map interface. It includes maps, district boundaries, public trails, aerial photos, and many state of the art geospatial tools to put the power of map making and inquiry in the hands of the public. The application saves county staff much time by empowering citizens to answer many of their own questions to county related business. It is used by county employees, contractors, real estate professionals, utilities, title companies, banks, schools, fire departments, law enforcement, emergency response, and every other type of citizen.
