The Orange County Registrar of Voters Military and Overseas Portal was designed to offer the military and overseas citizens of Orange County a new service, fill gaps in the availability of existing services, improve the administration of an existing government program, and increase the level of citizen participation in and understanding of elections. The portal was launched prior to the November 2010 General Election. It is a new custom web portal for overseas and military voters. The overseas and military web portal is unique to Orange County and can be found at ocvote.com/overseas. Some of the portal features for these voters include: Ability to check their voter registration, register to vote and request a vote-by-mail ballot using the Federal Postcard Application Wizard (FPCA), and provide a secure email address. However, the most unique feature of this new service is the functionality that allows the voters to download, print, and vote their ballots; print return envelopes, review answers to frequently asked questions and much more. The Military and Overseas Portal has significantly reduced barriers to voting for a special population of citizens thereby increasing citizen participation and understanding of elections. They are now provided with everything they need to ensure their vote counts.
