In July 2009, Broward County was among the first in the state of Florida to launch a web-based Lobbyist Registration application. The online registration allows citizens involved in existing lobbying activities as well as those interested in lobbying with Broward County to register their company and client information online. This application was developed completely in-house by Broward County’s Enterprise Technology Services in collaboration with Broward County Administration personnel. The new automated registration process was developed as an alternative to a paper-based form. This effort increases the transparency of lobbying procedures and provides readily accessible information to the public which can be searched via an online database.
