Hamilton County Job and Family Services Since started in mid 2018 a series of process, policy and technology changes that resulted in dramatic increases in distribution of funding for families in need of one-time assistance to address specific barriers to work, housing stability and child welfare. In 2020, at least 2,000 homes received Prevention Retention Contingency (PRC) services as a result of these system improvements. These residents would not have previously had access to the resources. County staff members led this effort. Administrators pushed and supported the initiative. State and community partners approved and encouraged the work. The improved outcomes were the result of multiple discreet and iterative reforms that continue today. None of these efforts was in response to a mandate. All were chosen initiatives.
