About the Program

Category: Information Technology (Best in Category)

Year: 2010

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Information Technology serves as a conduit that bridges the gap between law enforcement and Department of Behavioral Health services by providing secure technological access to the outcome of mental health crisis calls that necessitated police intervention and warrants clinical follow-up services. The Crisis Intervention Team IT System, in addition to demographics, tracks the number of times law enforcement responds to individuals and locations with mental health crises and identifies repeat calls for service and geographic locations in need of integrated mental health and community resources. The Crisis Management Team IT System equally tracks the collaborative crisis responses between law enforcement and Department of Health and tracks results of services for both entities.
