John Wayne Airport, owned and operated by the County of Orange in Southern California, is the 3rd busiest airport in Southern California and serves more than nine million travelers each year of which about 50% are business and 50% are leisure travelers. John Wayne Airport has used an Annual Report to communicate with its stakeholders (including travelers) for decades. In response to feedback from stakeholders requesting to receive the financial statements in an electronic format, John Wayne Airport decided to begin producing an electronic, interactive Annual Report which would also allow the airport to reach a wider audience. According to John Wayne Airport Passenger Surveys dating back to 2005, more than 50% of Orange County residents were getting their information about the airport from online sources. In the most recent survey conducted in 2013, to no surprise, online continues to be the predominant method for residents and travelers trying to find information about John Wayne Airport. In an effort to stay relevant with communication and compete with varying forms of media our residents/travelers are presented with daily, the 2013 Annual Report was produced not only to be viewed on a PC or Mac but on multiple platforms, including being optimized for mobile and on tablets. And, for those who miss the printed format, a PDF copy could be downloaded.
